Julie celebrated life! While fully aware of its serious moments and overcoming her many health challenges, she maintained a bright and optimistic outlook. This was due to her deep faith and being raised in a large and loving Catholic family. Julie was a beloved mother to Lance, adoring grandmother to Caitlin and Jamie, and to Laurel who died in infancy. She was a much loved daughter, our cherished sister and sister-in-law and an enchanting aunt to her many nieces and nephews who adored her warmth and creativity. She also enjoyed a circle of devoted friends from Texas to California and across the globe. A woman of many talents, Julie was a Montessori International teacher and an accomplished artist. Other work experiences took her to the university campuses of Notre Dame, Rice, and Cal Berkeley; the Texas State Legislature; Texas Highways Magazine; and the Salvation Army College for Officer Training in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Julie loved her life in Redondo Beach and took daily walks along the shore, working in her floral garden and painting. Born and raised in Texas, Julie was also proud of her French and Louisiana heritage. She shared this through preparing wonderful meals for family and friends. Most importantly, Julie was a model of kindness to the many people who were fortunate to cross her path, especially those in need. She had a unique way of looking at life, often catching those memorable moments with humor and joy. We miss you dearly, Julie.
