A Strong Spirit, a Loving Heart, and a Life That Touched Us All.
Barbara Ann LeBlanc, née Kolenda of Ormond By the Sea, Florida, formerly of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, passed away surrounded by the family she devoted her life to. Born in Fitchburg on November 23, 1938, Barbara lived with a steady strength, a warm sense of humor, and a deep love for the people and animals she cared for.
Barbara was the center of her family. She raised her children with loyalty, grit, and a love that never wavered. She is survived by her daughters Debra Lucci, Cheryl LeBlanc, and Stephanie Ann LeBlanc, and by her son Christopher K. LeBlanc-Coppola. She is predeceased by her beloved son, Lee Joseph LeBlanc, whose passing she carried in her heart every day.
She is also survived by her sisters Evelyn Dustin and Donna Browning, and was predeceased by her sister Jeanette Gallagher. Barbara shared a lifelong bond with her siblings, but Donna held a special place in her life as both her sister and her closest friend. Their connection was constant, and one of the greatest sources of comfort and joy for Barbara. She was also a proud grandmother to Angel Torres, Brittany LeBlanc, Brandon LeBlanc, Jason Lucci, and Nicholas Lucci, who each brought light, laughter, and purpose to her life in different and meaningful ways.
For many years, Barbara worked in the environmental services department at Emerson Hospital. She took pride in her work, moved through her days with kindness, and cared deeply about the people around her. She continued working until illness made retirement unavoidable, a difficult shift for someone who always stayed active and hands-on.
Barbara grew up with a natural sense of grace. As a young woman, she was an exceptional dancer and practiced acrobatics, and that lightness stayed with her throughout her life. She loved animals, loved taking care of others, and had a sense of humor that could ease any moment. Christmas was her favorite season, and she had a gift for decorating. She created a home filled with warmth, beauty, and a touch of magic.
Eleven years ago, Barbara and her daughter Stephanie chose to leave Massachusetts and move to Florida to be closer to her son Chris. They built a beautiful home in Ormond By the Sea, a place that reflected Barbara's impeccable style and the comfort she created so naturally. Every detail mattered to her, and that home became a true expression of the life she loved.
Barbara will be remembered as a devoted mother, a loving sister, and a woman whose strength and heart shaped everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her spirit and the love she gave so freely will stay with them always.
A celebration of her life will be held on June 8, 2026 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. For information, please contact:
