Barbara Ruth Slater, 68, passed away on November 14, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on October 6, 1956, in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, Barbara lived a life filled with love, generosity, and dedication to her family and passions.

Barbara grew up in Winona, Minnesota, where she graduated from Winona Senior High School. She pursued further education at Winona State College and later graduated from Winona Cosmetology School. Her professional career included roles as a customer service representative at Key Bank and later at GE Financial, where she retired after years of dedicated service.

Barbara was a woman of many talents and interests. She had a passion for sewing and crafting, often creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity. A lover of mysteries, she enjoyed immersing herself in captivating stories. Her love for animals was evident through her involvement in basset hound rescue efforts. Barbara also had a deep appreciation for English history and found joy in traveling to explore new places. Known for her keen eye for bargains, she delighted in shopping trips that combined practicality with fun. Above all else, Barbara cherished her family deeply and was known as the best aunt, sister, and friend to those fortunate enough to know her.

Barbara is survived by her loving mother Lorraine M. Slater; her brother Michael P. Slater and his wife Ann (Burkhart) Slater; her sister Susan C. (Slater) Ringle and her husband William J. Ringle Jr; her nieces and nephews Chad Slater, Tara Slater, Rachel L Ringle and William C. Ringle; as well as her grand-nephews Blake Slater, Garret Slater and Jack W. Ringle. She was predeceased by her father Paul C. Slater.

Barbara’s kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
