Barbara Ann Wagner (née Shinn), age 85, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born in Detroit, MI. She was raised in St. Johns, Michigan, a place she always called home. She loved talking about her childhood and the years she spent growing up with her four siblings and parents, often sharing stories that brought comfort and connection.
She loved God and her family, and her faith was a steady part of her life. Barbara was a strong, devoted mother who did an amazing job raising her two children and was always present for her family.
She worked primarily as a public school bus driver in St. Johns and later as a home health aide, caring for others with compassion and kindness. Her most important role in life was being a mom, a grandma, and a great-grandma.
Barbara brought laughter into the lives of those around her through the things she said and the way she said them — sometimes purposeful, sometimes simply honest. These moments became cherished memories for her family.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kristine (Jeffrey); her son, Steven (Sheila); her grandchildren, Cameron (Paige), Ashleigh (Josh), and Sarah; her great-grandson, Nathan; her brother, Bob; and numerous others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Dora (Gassbeek); her sister, Betty; her brothers, Bud and Bill; and her daughter, Terri.
Her beloved great-granddaughter, Harlow, whom she had a special bond with, joined her in heaven the following day.
Barbara will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.
