Barbara Jean Zimmer, born on September 19, 1946, in Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away suddenly on February 11, 2026, in Murchison, Texas. She was 79 years old.

Barbara honorably served her country as a contract specialist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Her dedication and professionalism, during peace time and conflicts abroad, left a lasting impact on those she worked with throughout her career.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Barbara was deeply involved in various organizations that reflected her passions and commitment to helping others. She served for several years as a Logistics Administrator for the Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program (BPPP) and was a board member of the Bonanza/Baron Pilot Training program. Her contributions to these programs were invaluable and demonstrated her dedication to supporting aviation education and safety.

Barbara also had a heart for community service. She represented the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church as one of many churches that helped establish the Samaritan Resource Center (SRC) in East Orlando. Her efforts in this role exemplified her compassion and desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Barbara spent a number of years on the church congregational council and was on the board of directors for the preschool program. She was an active member of prayer teams and strongly supported the women's ministry. She was also involved with the food ministry and community outreach programs and believed in the importance of prayer and bible study groups.

Barbara is survived by her son, Brian Zimmer, and his wife Sandra; her daughter, Tami Nichols, and her husband Mark; her daughter, Nichole Adrian, and her husband Cleetus; stepdaughter, Heather Timmermans; and her stepson, Aaron Timmermans. She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who will cherish their memories of her.

Barbara shared an extraordinary bond with her beloved husband Ron Timmermans. Their lives were intertwined not only by love but also by their shared commitment to family and faith. Tragically passing on the same day as Ron, Barbara’s memory will forever remain linked with his in the hearts of those who knew them.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Barbara's memory. Contributions can be made by visiting www.spiritofjoy.org, selecting the "Give" option, and choosing a fund to donate to.
