Bermate Sanon, born on July 29, 1939, in Jeremie, Haiti, passed away on February 19, 2026, in Roosevelt, New York. She was 86 years old.

Bermate lived a life defined by strength, devotion, and unwavering love for her family. She was a woman of quiet resilience and deep compassion, whose presence brought comfort and stability to those around her. Through the years, she nurtured her family with wisdom, patience, and grace, leaving behind a legacy rooted in unity, faith, and enduring love.

She is survived by her five devoted adult children, Wichnite Sanon Deriviere, Marie-Ange Marcelin, Wichnick Marcelin, Cam-Suze Marcelin and Nadine Sanon Simbert, who were the pride and joy of her life. She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren, Lhens, Wishanz, Gazie and Gahelle Deriviere, Eurica Pierre, Kendra and Tamara Simbert, and Wareinsdy who will forever carry her lessons, stories, and warmth in their hearts. Bermate is lovingly remembered by her three younger sisters and four brothers, as well as her 29 beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her kindness and generosity.

To know Bermate was to experience gentleness paired with quiet strength. She found joy in family gatherings, heartfelt conversations, and the simple blessings of everyday life. Her home was a place of welcome, and her guidance was a steady light for generations.
