On February 11, 2026 Bernard Anthony Stepnowski, 76, of Northford, CT passed away peacefully at Connecticut Hospice. As a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran Bernie was dedicated to serving his country first in the military and then through his tireless work in the fields of aerospace and technology. He was a member of the VFW, Wounded Warriors and the American Legion and had an endearing love for our American Flag which he proudly displayed at his family home. At the time of his passing, he was employed by Kaman Precision Products in Middletown, CT as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer and thought very highly of his family there.
Bernie was a devoted family man and spent many summers on family vacations to the Cape and the beautiful lakes of New York. In his spare time, He also enjoyed golf, gardening, watching sports and a few good weekend movies.
Bernie is survived by his beloved wife Debra J. Stepnowski, his son Brian Stepnowski, daughter Melissa Stepnowski and brother John Stepnowski. He is predeceased by his parents Mary and John Stepnowski and his sister Florence Shinsky.
A private memorial will be held by the immediate family prior to the spreading of the ashes, and his U.S. Flag will be presented to his son. When remembering Bernie perhaps you can listen to his favorite song "God Bless The U.S.A." by Lee Greenwood. It was his mantra. He will be dearly missed by all.
The family would like to thank all those who have extended their support and generosity during this most difficult time.
