Bernice “Bea” Isabelle Zeckzer (Carter), age 100, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, in Yucaipa, California.

Born in 1925, Bea grew up during the Great Depression and carried its lessons of resilience and hard work throughout her life. She went on to witness nearly a full century of American history unfold, living through multiple wars and the transformation of the modern world. Through it all, she remained steady in her faith, devoted to her family, and grounded in the values that shaped her generation.

Bea spent many years in Michigan before living in Prescott and Phoenix, Arizona. She later made her home in Lake Elsinore, California, where she lived for several decades. Her life was defined by hard work, independence, and the quiet strength of her era. She worked as a nursing assistant and, alongside her husband, Dick Zeckzer, spent time on the road as a part-time owner-operator of an 18-wheel semi-truck. Their years driving together reflected Bea’s determined spirit and the strong partnership they shared throughout their marriage. Dick preceded her in death in 2002 in Lake Elsinore.

She loved playing the organ, kept her beloved poodles close by, and treasured the simple joys of home and family. During her years in Lake Elsinore, she attended First Christian Church, where she found fellowship and lasting friendships. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed the camaraderie and laughter it brought into her life.

Bea is survived by her children: Carol Price; and Rick and Annmarie Zeckzer.

Grandchildren: Kathryn Lane of Ash Fork, Arizona; Rick and Rebecca Zeckzer; Sean and Sheryl Hayes; and Michael and Regina Zeckzer.

Great-grandchildren: Brandon, Kylie, Ryan, and Alissa Hayes; Kevin Zeckzer; Alexandra Stevens; Isabele and Ana Zeckzer; and Amber, Serenity, and Jesse Lane.

Bea leaves behind a century of memories, stories, and family ties that will be cherished for generations. Her life stands as a testament to perseverance, partnership, and the enduring strength of family.
