Bethany Kay McGrady, 41, passed away on June 9, 2024, in Seattle, Washington. Born on December 13, 1982, in Portland, Oregon, Bethany lived a life marked by individuality, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family.
A proud graduate of Gaston High School, Bethany pursued her passion for the culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu. Her love for cooking was more than a skill—it was a way she expressed care and creativity. Later in life, she continued her educational journey by working toward a Master's Degree in Psychology at the University of Phoenix, reflecting her deep desire to understand and help others.
Bethany was known for walking her own path with confidence and individuality. Her sharp wit and signature sarcasm brought laughter and levity to those around her. Her humor was unforgettable—distinctly hers—and it left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
At the heart of Bethany's life was her role as a mother to her beloved son, David McGrady. Their bond was filled with shared moments reading books, watching movies, and camping together—simple joys that held profound meaning. Family always came first for Bethany; she treasured every moment spent with those she loved.

She is survived by her son David McGrady; her father David McGrady; sisters Jessica Slagal and Katie Ayres; nephews Jordan, Alejandro, and Nicolas; nieces Marisa and Madison. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy McGrady.
