Betty Lou (Vera) Eliason Ames was born on August 20, 1938 in Erie, Pennsylvania, and grew up on her family's farm in Waterford. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Hannah Mae Gem (Yaple) Eliason.
She went to be with Jesus and receive her eternal reward January 31, 2026.
The most important thing in her life was following Jesus, and following His example by loving and serving people.
She would love to have you learn more about following Jesus. You can start that journey by reading Matthew, Mark, Luke and John’s accounts of Jesus’ life and teachings.
She was a great cook, and was very talented at numerous craft projects: ceramics, painting, assembling elaborate scrapbooks, sewing wedding dresses and making professional grade clothing for all her grandchildren.
She met her future husband Robert (Bob) Ames Jr. near the Glenwood diner in Erie when her car needed a jump. They were married for 63 years.
They had 3 sons: Rob III (Candi) Ames, Chris Ames, and Todd (Julie) Ames.
Their grandchildren and great grandchildren:
