Betty Anderson

1937 - 2026

Betty Lou Anderson, age 88, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on the afternoon of April 18th, 2026. Betty was born on May 12th, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Charles and Gladys Koenig, and was one of six children. She graduated from North High School in Minneapolis and pursued an education in Secretarial Studies. She worked briefly at 2 different law firms before choosing to stay home with the family she had started with her husband, Les Anderson, whom she married in May of 1957. They had four children together and shared a long and loving marriage. Following the tragic loss of their daughter, Teri Jean, in 1974, Betty took a job at the Delano Manor as a Nursing Assistant working the night shift. She then became the head of Medical Records once it was found out that she could type, and she eventually managed the nursing schedule, as well. She continued working at the nursing home until she retired. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, birdwatching, reading, and was a long-time member of Our Father’s Lutheran Church. She lived a life of deep faith and had a special gift for making others feel important. It was clear that spending time with her family brought her the greatest joy by the way she would light up around them. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Brian Anderson and Nathan Anderson; daughter Darla Bissener and her husband Tony Bissener; grandchildren Justin Stotko, Krista Mohs, TJ Bissener, Aryn Bissener, Alyssa Morales, Danielle Sullivan, Dylan Anderson, Kali Anderson, Mikayla Anderson, Jesse Anderson, Jacob Anderson, as well as 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Neil, Charlie, and Marvin Koenig; and her sister Cheryl Schaefer. Preceding her in death were her parents Charles and Gladys Koenig; daughter Teri Jean Anderson; grandson Nicholas Anderson; step-granddaughter April Pivec; brother Gary Koenig; and her beloved husband, Les Anderson. Betty will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her unwavering strength, her big heart, and for the light she brought into so many lives. She will be deeply missed but dearly remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 30th at 11am, with visitation one hour before, at Light of Christ Lutheran Church 3976 County Line Rd SE Delano, MN. A meal will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the service.
