Betty Jean Halabrin

Betty Jean Halabrin, aged 94, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Des Plaines, Illinois. Born Betty Jean Mulback on January 7, 1932 in Chicago, she spent her childhood years on a beloved family farm in Moquah, Wisconsin, and later in the Jeffrey Manor neighborhood of Chicago's far south side. She experienced her teenage years in Detroit, Michigan, before returning to Chicago where she embarked on a career in the grocery business, followed by decades in healthcare. Always embracing a dedicated work ethic, Betty retired at the age of 79.
Throughout her life, Betty was known for her deep love for animals, having adopted numerous kittens and puppies over the years. Her skills as an expert seamstress were well recognized. She was cherished as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Her strength, gratitude, and generosity left a lasting impact on all those around her. She will be remembered for imparting her spirit of fortitude, resilience and positivity with all who knew her.
