Betty Lou Marx

Betty Lou Marx passed away on February 19, 2026, in Roscommon, Michigan, nine days before her 95th birthday. She was born Betty Lou to Mable (West) and Floyd Doyle in Saginaw, Michigan. She was an honor student at Saginaw High School, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She met her husband, Chester Marx, at a Polka dance. They were married on June 13, 1953. Chester preceded her in death by 7 years.
She worked at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1985, after which she and Chester were free to travel around the United States. They spent every winter in Florida, where they had many friends. Betty was a member of a Kazoo and Washboard band in their retirement community. The highlight of their travels was a much-anticipated trip to Egypt and Kenya in 1985.

She will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her two sons, Eric and Paul, and numerous nieces and nephews.
