Betty LaJuan Schrank (née Barnes), age 90, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Georgetown, Texas. Born on May 15, 1935, in Andrews, Texas, Betty lived a full and vibrant life rooted in faith, family, and love. Betty married Ollie Schrank on January 8, 1954 and they were together for 69 years, until his death on May 4 2023.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Ollie Schrank and the cherished daughter of Wesley and Iva Barnes. She was also predeceased by her brothers Wesley Junior, Bill, and Bobby Joe. Her family was her greatest joy, and she devoted her life to being a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving children: son Mark Schrank; daughter Karen Veillon and husband David; and daughter Lynn Pitts and husband Dan. Betty's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Phillip Bergeron and wife Zulmy; Lori Bergeron; Bradan Pitts and wife Savannah; Erin Hardaway and husband Sam; Kailey Schubel and husband Holden; and Sara Carpenter and husband Loyal and Nicholas Veillon. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Justice, Merrick, Naya, West, Vienna, Kathryn, and Annie.
Betty's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She loved attending church and found immense strength in her spiritual journey. Her engaging personality left an indelible mark on everyone she met—she had a way of making people smile and feel loved wherever she went. Her warmth and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Betty's memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends. May her legacy of love bring comfort to those who mourn her passing. A Service will be held on April 2, 2026, 11:00 AM, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Kileen, TX.
