Betty Schwab (Heidkamp), 76, of Brookville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026.
She was born on August 28, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Al and Ruth Heidkamp.
Throughout her life, Betty was known for her kindness and compassion toward others. She devoted much of her time to charity work at Resurrection Catholic Church (now St. Benedict the Moore), as Sister Betty. She was also an active advocate for the Down Syndrome community, inspired by her sister, Carol.
Betty showed her love for her family through spending time together in everyday activities, crafting, playing games, and enjoying vacations as a family to all 50 states and many countries in Europe.
A devoted wife, mother, and sister, she found her greatest joy in caring for others, bringing people together, and being surrounded by family. She had a special way of making everyone feel valued, and her presence will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Mark Schwab; her daughter, Diane Schwab; and her siblings, Bill Heidkamp and Bob Heidkamp. She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Ruth Heidkamp, and her sister, Carol Heidkamp.
