Obituary for Betty Ann Silvers
July 6, 1946 - January 1, 2026

Betty Ann Silvers, 79, entered eternal rest on January 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Her life was marked by loyalty, deep love for those she held dear, and a strength that remained steadfast even in her final days.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father, Ila Fern and Dwight Jeffries, as well as her cherished nephew, Payton Irwin. She is survived by her loving son, Richard Jeffries (Jennifer); her adored granddaughters, Jordan Fletcher (Tyler) and Julia Tomlin (Grant); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Lucy Claire, Grace Kyle, and Tyler Michael Fletcher, Jr. She is also survived by her brother, Rick Irwin (LaDonna).

Betty was immensely proud of her family, and nothing brought her greater joy than her son, Richard, his wife, Jennifer, and her grandchildren. She loved fiercely and faithfully, offering unwavering support, wisdom, and encouragement. To know Betty was to know someone who stood by her people with quiet resolve and a generous heart.

A true businesswoman, Betty was highly intelligent and endlessly curious. She valued knowledge, continually learning, studying, and seeking to understand the world around her. Her sharp mind and determination shaped both her professional life and the way she faced life's challenges, with thoughtfulness, courage, and grace.

Betty also had a deep love for art, which she expressed through the beauty she created with her hands. Sewing was one of her greatest joys, where precision and creativity came together in pieces made with care and intention. When something broke, it was often said "Take it to GB, she can fix it". Even her great granddaughters were not upset when one of their Lovies was damaged, knowing GB would be on her way with her sewing kit. She delighted in card making, thoughtfully crafting each one as a personal work of art that conveyed love, encouragement, or celebration. In the kitchen, her creativity came alive through cooking, where meals were prepared not just to nourish, but to bring comfort and togetherness, and always with a theme and headpiece for her family to wear. Whether through fabric, paper, or food, Betty's artistic spirit was a reflection of her heart, generous, thoughtful, and full of love.

In her final days, when asked how she was doing, Betty simply said she was "feeling brave." Those words, spoken with quiet strength and unwavering faith, have become a profound and lasting comfort to her family. They reflect not only her courage in the face of suffering, but also the deep peace that sustained her as she prepared to go home. Even in her hardest moments, Betty chose bravery rooted in trust, trust that she was not alone and that God was with her every step of the way.

Betty's faith was central to her life and remains one of her greatest legacies to her family. She lived with a steady belief in God's promises, and she faced death with the same resolve and confidence that guided her life. Scripture reminds us, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9). It also offers this enduring hope: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die" (John 11:25). Her family finds peace knowing that Betty fought a courageous fight, remained faithful to the end, and has now been made whole, resting in the presence of her Maker, free from pain and embraced by eternal life.

In keeping with her generous spirit and commitment to learning, Betty was passionate about donating her body to clinical research. Her family takes great comfort in knowing that, even in death, she is contributing to the advancement of medicine and helping others through improved understanding and treatment.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Prisma Oncology, Dr. Chung, Dr. Trocha, Brittany, Nurse Navigator, and all of the compassionate staff at the cancer center who cared for Betty throughout her treatment. Heartfelt thanks are also given to Dr. Oza with Bon Secours Gastroenterology for his care and support in the early days of her pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Betty Ann Silvers will be remembered for her love, her loyalty, her brilliant mind, and her brave heart. Her legacy lives on through her family, the lives she touched, and the hope she held fast to until the very end.

"Mom, I cant stop thinking about how happy GB is in Heaven with Jesus" - Lucy
