Beverly Ann Bower (nee Crist) passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 24, 2025, after a long and fulfilling life. Born in 1936 in Snyder, Nebraska, she was the eldest of three children raised by a strong single mother. She married Paul Bower in 1955, and they moved to Southern California in 1960 with a 6-month-old son. Two more boys were added to the family over the next 8 years. The family enjoyed staying connected with frequent summer trips to visit extended family in California, Nebraska, and Maryland.
Beverly rejoined the workforce in 1979, finding fulfilling work as secretary at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and later as a human resources professional at a local bank. Her faith in the Lord was her foundation and her life revolved around her church and her family. In the 1970s Good Shepherd's congregation sponsored a family fleeing Viet Nam after the fall of Saigon, and she jumped wholeheartedly into getting the family settled; they remained lifelong friends. Faced with divorce, she helped found the church's widows and divorced support group.
Beverly is survived by sons Jay and Brett, daughters-in-law Jenny, Lauren, and Maxine, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in passing by her son Thad and husband Paul.
