Beverly Rochelle Mayo

Beverly Rochelle Mayo (Forbes), age 57, of Opdyke, Illinois, passed away at 12:49 p.m. on December 17, 2025. She was born July 10, 1968, in Decatur, Illinois.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Rick Mayo of Opdyke; her mother, Sondra White of Decatur; her father, Mike (Barb) Forbes of Punta Gorda, FL; her children, Kristina (Cliff) Swaggerty of Decatur, Jacquelyn Danner of Decatur, Laura (Jeremy Jones) Mayo of Decatur, Cody Mayo of Opdyke, Jamie Mayo of St. Louis MO., and Nicholas Mayo of Opdyke; sister-in-law Vickie O'Dea of Mt. Vernon, IL; and many cherished grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Mary Proctor; stepfather, Robert L. White; mother-in-law, Sharon Pratt; brother, M. Shane Forbes; daughter, Kala Mayo; and her beloved granddaughter, McKenzi Baker.

Beverly dedicated many years of her life caring for others through her work as a CNA at Imboden Creek Living Center, where her kindness and steady presence touched countless lives. After retiring and moving to Opdyke, she continued her commitment to helping others. She was a volunteer at a local family shelter, LifeBoat Alliance, offering comfort, dignity, and hope to those in need.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., on December 30, 2025, at First Christian Church in Decatur.
