Beverly M. Powell

Beverly M. Powell, 73, died Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at her home in Allentown, PA.

Beverly was born on May 18, 1952, in Stamford, CT, to the late Thomas E. and Myrtle I. (Thurston) Powell. She graduated from Crossland High School, Camp Springs, MD, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from Wilkes College.

Beverly had several careers, mostly centered in southeastern Pennsylvania, spending the last two decades in the insurance industry, previously at The Hartford and Fireman’s Fund, and most recently with the Beitler Agency, Bethlehem, PA.

Beverly loved to travel, spending many years regularly visiting New Orleans (often returning with a new hat, suitable for Sundays), and once took a trip across the country in a new LeBaron convertible. For family and friends, she was always generous with her time and abilities—from a spare bed when needed for a fresh start, to supporting the new start of a business—she was there. She stayed a reader and a dreamer and could be counted to have at least one or two books underway, often science fiction or fantasy.

Beverly was recently preceded in death by her brother Lewis M. Powell. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy M. Bender, Schwenksville, PA, her nephews, Rev. Thomas M., husband of Rebecca (Doster) Powell, Mechanicsburg, PA, and Robert T. Powell, Schwenksville; and her grand-nephews and grand-niece, Lewis, Padraig, and Brigid Powell.
