Bill M. Dawson (71) of Eagle, Idaho, passed away Wednesday September 3, 2025, at 6:50 p.m. after a long battle with heart failure and Type 1 Diabetes.
Bill was born December 7, 1953, at Camp Stewart, Georgia to Shirley and Bill G. Dawson. He had a passion for sports, exercise, science, history, and gardening. In his youth he won science awards, was an Eagle Scout, and appeared on the Junior Varsity Quiz television program as a member of the Wilder High School Team. He loved to read mystery, sci-fi, and adventure novels and his friends and family enjoyed his quick wit and sense of humor.
He attended the University of Idaho where he met and married Sue Hoioos on July 5, 1978. Bill and Sue raised their three children, Nick, Elizabeth, and Erin in Boise, Idaho. Obtaining his Masters Degree in Special Education at BSU, he worked as a manager at the Idaho State School and Hospital until his retirement.
Outside of work he enjoyed taking his kids skiing at Bogus Basin, hiking in the foothills, swimming and camping at Silver Creek every summer. He built a garden paradise for his family along with two playhouses for his kids.
Bill is survived by his wife Sue, son Nick, daughter Elizabeth (Nic), daughter Erin (Abhay) and sister Fela. Papa was beloved by his three grandchildren Charlie, Maddox and Ellie.
Bill's wishes were to be cremated, and his ashes split between his three children.
