William Joseph Reindl (“Bill”), of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the age of 69, following a courageous 17-month battle with pancreatic cancer. His beloved wife, Sabine was by his side.

Bill was born on September 10, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Lillian Marie (née Wanninger) and George Henry Reindl. While he proudly maintained a lifelong allegiance to the Chicago Cubs, Bill spent most of his childhood along the shores of Fairfield, Connecticut with his four siblings. He was active in nearly every sport his mom could sign them up for, ultimately discovering his true passions in hockey and baseball. Bill attended Fairfield Prep where he was a founding member of the school’s hockey program.

Bill went on to enjoy four formative years at Providence College (Class of 1978) where he served as Vice President of his class and met lifelong friends. Following graduation, Bill returned to Connecticut and began his professional journey, gaining valuable early experience before joining Aetna, where he built the foundation of his career, made lifelong friends, and met the love of his life, Sabine.

Aetna took the young family briefly to Toledo, Ohio before relocating to the Philadelphia region in 1992 to be closer to family. Bill had a storied career in the health insurance industry and was a pioneer in consumer-driven healthcare. He was known among colleagues for being a natural connector, along with his positive energy and generous mentorship.

Bill’s goal was always to retire early, and in doing so, he made room for travel and time on Cape Cod with Sabine and family while also fitting in senior softball, pickleball at the YMCA, and a steady rotation of ambitious home improvement projects.

Service was embedded in Bill’s DNA - he served as a board member of the Mary Campbell Center for many years, and volunteered with Good Works for 23 years. In addition, he dedicated countless hours to coaching on softball fields, building Garnet Valley Post Prom experiences and cheering relentlessly on the sidelines for his daughters.

Above all, Bill was a deeply devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sabine (née Trautner); his three daughters Amy Pollaci (Joseph), Lisa Zahn (Andy), and Elizabeth Reindl; and his five adoring grandchildren; Joseph, Lillia, Stella, Isla, and Harper, who brought him tremendous joy. He is also survived by siblings; Janet Reindl-Bransfield, James Reindl (Leonie), Thomas Reindl (Joellen): his father-in-law, Manfred Trautner, brother-in-law, Bruce Trautner (Deborah); eleven nieces and nephews: and eight grand-nieces and nephews with two on the way.

Bill was reunited with loved ones who passed before him, including his parents Lillian and George; his sister Jeanne Ingersoll (James); his mother-in-law, Renate Trautner; and brother-in-law, David Bransfield.

Bill will be remembered for being a people person; he had a knack for making friends everywhere he went. He was also a legendary sandcastle architect, gourmet omelet chef, beach bonfire organizer, and sought after volunteer painter.
His departure too soon from this earth is a devastating loss for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A funeral service and celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
