Blaze Dillon Rice, 32, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Brackenridge, PA on November 10, 2025. Blaze was born in Erie, PA on January 26, 1993 and was a graduate of Avon Lake (OH) High School. He is survived by his loving parents, Louis and Terry Rice, son Kaiden Coveny, brothers Jon B Rice (Kristen), Louie Rice Jr. (Taylor), Jim Gehlke, David Gehlke (Ashley), and sisters Tessi Rice (Shoey), Raven Delp (Jillian) and Leann Roberts (Tyrone), uncles Donald Rice (Diane), David Rice, aunts Mary Bowlin and Karen Knable (Conrad) and many cousins.
Blaze was known for his above-average intelligence with an uncanny aptitude for numbers, his incredible ability to memorize things verbatim and his love of story telling. His future held endless possibilities and potential. He adored his grandparents Kate and Arden Rice and spent many weekends as a child helping them and his Uncle Don at the family farm in Leesburg PA.
As a child Blaze had many quirks and idiosyncrasies. He would wear only orange swishy pants until he moved up to middle school where he expanded his wardrobe to include blue swishy pants. He had his own unique style his entire life. We never knew what his new "look" would be. His manners were impeccable and his demeanor almost always smiling and pleasant.
After graduation Blaze eventually found his way back to PA where he worked in a retail shop as store manager. He had many regular customers and a wide array of friends he referred to as family. He was an animal lover and proud owner of two cats.
A private service for family was held with interment close to his beloved Grandma and Grandpa Rice in Mercer, PA. Funeral arrangements handled by Smith Funeral Home, Leesburg, PA. Donations may be made in Blaze's name to the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation.
