Brenda Kay Chittenden, 54, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Oroville, California. Born on August 31, 1971, in Willows, California, Brenda lived a life marked by deep compassion, unwavering faith, and a vibrant spirit that touched all who knew her.
Brenda was the beloved daughter of Delbert and Arvilla Chittenden (Bradford), both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her brother Todd Chittenden; grandparents Charles and Viola Bradford and Cordelia Chittenden; and numerous aunts and uncles whose memories she cherished.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister Sheila Lorenzini and husband Kenny, as well as her niece Kelly Christensen. Brenda’s family was a source of great pride and love in her life.
Brenda grew up in Colusa, CA, graduating from Colusa High School. She made lifelong friends that she valued and enjoyed until she passed. Brenda also lived in Boise Idaho, Miami Florida and finally settled in Chico California. True to Brenda’s nature, she developed beautiful friendships in each of those communities. Her personality was magnetic to say the least!
Professionally, Brenda found joy and success in the world of home décor. Her eye for beauty and design made her a highly sought-after furniture salesperson. Her talent for decorating extended beyond work—it was an expression of her creativity and passion for making spaces feel warm and welcoming.
Brenda had an adventurous spirit that found joy in travel. Whether exploring new places or learning about different cultures, she embraced every opportunity to expand her horizons. She also had a deep love for her Yorkie furbabies, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
A lifelong learner with an inquisitive mind, Brenda delighted in researching new topics—especially those connected to her profound spiritual beliefs. Her faith was central to who she was. With deep empathy for the down-and-out, the brokenhearted, and those facing hardship, Brenda never hesitated to share her belief in Jesus with others. She did so with confidence and authenticity that left a lasting impression on many lives.
Those who knew Brenda will remember her beautiful smile that could light up any room, her quick wit that brought laughter even in difficult times, and a giving heart that always sought to uplift others. Opinionated and determined, she stood firm in her convictions while offering kindness without condition.
In honor of Brenda’s generous spirit, the family asks that instead of flowers or donations, you “pay it forward.” Find someone to bless—with your time, your resources, or your love—in Brenda's memory.
May the memory of Brenda Kay Chittenden bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM at The Parrish on Oak St 345 Oak St, Colusa CA. Graveside services will be a private ceremony at Princeton Cemetery at a later date.
