Brent Enzley Pickett

Brent Enzley Pickett, 64, of Oceanside, California, passed away on November 18, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, generosity, service, and quiet strength that touched countless lives.
Brent was born in Riverside, California, to Shirley and Bulo Pickett and raised in Chula Vista, California. From a young age, following in the footsteps of his dad, he developed a deep love for scouting and the outdoors and became an avid boy scouter, a passion that shaped his character and his lifelong commitment to helping others. His gentle humility and hands-on willingness to serve became hallmarks of who he was.
He was a lifelong faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a young adult Brent served a full-time mission for the church, in the South Dakota, Rapid City Mission.
Brent married his sweetheart, Suzy, in the Los Angeles Temple on December 14,1985. They would be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this year. As a father, he taught hard work, dedicated service and how to laugh through life not only to his sons but to many others whom he influenced.
For 30 years, Brent taught mathematics at Mira Costa Community College, where he was known not only for his sharp mind but also for his patience, humor, and sincere desire to see his students succeed. He also loved cycling, often finding peace and joy on long rides throughout the San Diego County.
Brent is survived by his devoted wife, Suzy Pickett (formerly Thomas); his sons Ryan, Spencer (Nikki), Brandon (Annie), and Robby (Blakeley); and 9 of their grandchildren, with two more on the way who will grow up hearing stories of their remarkable grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Bulo Pickett, and by his granddaughter, Quinn.
Above all else, Brent was a caretaker at heart — always the first to offer help, always looking out for those around him. His kindness, steadiness, and quiet acts of service will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on December 13, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at 1310 Foothill Dr. Vista, CA 92084.
