Brian Alan Boggetto, born December 12, 1964, passed away peacefully at his home on January 18, 2026, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Brian was born in Joliet, Illinois, to Alan and Judy Boggetto and spent his life rooted in family, hard work, and deep connections with others. A graduate of Joliet West High School, Class of 1983, Brian excelled at baseball and basketball and developed a lifelong love of sports. That passion found its greatest expression not in his own accomplishments, but in sharing it with his sons. Watching them play, coaching them, and supporting them from the sidelines were among Brian's greatest joys.

In 1992, Brian married the love of his life, Gayle (née Nasenbenny), in Joliet. Together they built a life filled with laughter, dedication, and shared dreams. Brian was a devoted husband and an extraordinary father to his sons, Collin, Grant, and Tyler. He was also a tremendous support to Gayle behind the scenes as she launched and ran her dance studio business.

Brian dedicated 35 years of his professional life to Exelon at LaSalle Station, retiring in 2020. Retirement, however, did not slow him down—Brian was never one to sit still. He was quickly recruited to serve as a Westinghouse Site Coordinator for BHI in Monticello, Minnesota, a role that allowed him to continue doing what he loved: working hard, solving problems, and contributing his skills and leadership.

Despite a demanding career, Brian always made time for what mattered most: his family. He never missed an opportunity to be present for his boys, whether that meant coaching, traveling for games, or simply being there when they needed him. He took immense pride in the men they have become, and the feeling was mutual - - the boys adored their dad. Brian's steady support and quiet guidance shaped their lives in ways that will endure far beyond his years.

Brian loved the outdoors, especially being on the lake. In 2017, he and Gayle fulfilled their ultimate dream when they left suburban life behind and found and rebuilt their beautiful home on Lake Holiday in Somonauk. Whether boating, fishing, snowmobiling, or simply being near the water, the lake was where Brian felt most at peace. Lake life perfectly reflected who Brian was—active, hands-on, and happiest when surrounded by those he loved.

Creative and endlessly capable, Brian loved to build things and he was never afraid to take on ambitious projects, from home additions and decks to what many would agree is the best bar shed on the lake. Curious and self-taught, he was constantly developing new hobbies and passions. If he wasn't perfecting a new recipe in his smoker, he was planning the next upgrade to their home or property. His generosity matched his talent; Brian was always the first to offer his time, tools, and expertise to help others bring their own projects to life.

Through it all, Gayle was Brian's rock—his love, his cheerleader, and his steady support through work, countless projects, and especially throughout his battle with AML. Gayle and their boys were at Brian's side every step of the way. Brian knew how fortunate he and Gayle were to have found each other, and the strength of their bond was evident to all.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Alan Boggetto, and Don and Faye Nasenbenny, as well as aunts and uncles Shelby (Anderson) and Richard Muzzarelli, Donald Boggetto (Dee), Shirley Nelson (Russell), and Carol Boggetto.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Boggetto; his sons, Collin Boggetto, Grant Boggetto (Catherine Benson), and Tyler Boggetto; his mother, Judy Boggetto; his brother, Brad Boggetto (Michelle Sallese); his brother-in-law, Dane Nasenbenny (Mary); nephews and nieces Branden, Brittney, Emily (Jared), Caden, Katie and Grace; and cousins Julie Mitrani (Jacques) and Jan Hieggelke (Brian).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the life-saving organizations Light the Night and Be The Match would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on February 7, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 320 South Depot Street, Somonauk, Illinois. A celebration of Brian's wonderful life will be planned for a later date.

Brian's legacy lives on in the family he treasured, the friends he welcomed, and the countless lives he touched with his generosity, warmth, and unwavering love.
