Brian W. Clowe passed away on February 2, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on March 21, 1945, in Corning, New York, to Charles Clowe and Helen Olney. Growing up, Brian was active in sports, playing both baseball and continued his soccer career as a striker at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York (where he studied psychology) and was known for his ability to score with both feet.

After graduating from college, Brian enlisted to serve his country and went to Vietnam as an officer in the US Army. Upon returning home in 1969, he joined the Wilson and Toomer Company in Jacksonville, Florida, which had recently been acquired by Kerr McGee Chemical Corporation. Brian pursued further education at Central Florida University, earning a master's degree in business in 1972.

In 1974, Brian moved from Jacksonville to Oklahoma City to join Kerr-McGee Chemical's export department. He quickly adapted to international business and became Assistant Export Manager in 1975. Brian earned respect as a representative in markets like Brazil, Japan, and Korea, managing soda ash, potash, and phosphate sales. He was promoted to Director of Boron Sales and Marketing in 1985 and 1991, expanding production in Trona, California. From 1991 to 2001, he served as Director of Electrolytic Sales and Marketing, making significant contributions to the company.

Brian was known for his quiet intellect, love of reading, and wealth of knowledge. He often engaged in thoughtful reflection and was respected for his ability to listen and connect deeply with others. An effective debater, he also excelled as a sportsman. He was a talented soccer player and later played with distinction for the Oklahoma City Soccer team. In 1983, after winning a mile race as part of a bet, he took up running, continuing to participate in numerous events, including the Boston Marathon. Upon his retirement from Kerr McGee in 2001, Brian joined the Edmond Senior Men's Golf Association and remained an active member until 2017.

Brian was an incredible father and grandfather, never missing any events that arose. He attended dance recitals, football games, and track meets, even when his daughter was coaching. The love and dedication he brought to his family were immeasurable, and his absence will leave a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who cherished every moment spent in his company.

He is survived by his daughter, Camey Clowe, and husband, Brian Rowland, grandchildren Sage and Piper Barrett. Also surviving him are his brother, Olney Clowe, and sisters-in-law Ann Clowe and Sandy Clowe. Additional survivors include five nieces, Jennifer Clowe (James McCann) and children Delphine, Susie, Fred, and Louisa McCann: Laura Schroeder (Michael) and children Charlie, Teddy, and Anna; Sarah Clowe and children Bryson and Kendall Clowe; Quincy Clowe; Rachel Clowe-Chavez (Diego) and nephew Alexander Clowe.

In addition to his parents, Brian was predeceased by his wife, Laura Irvin Clowe, his siblings: Allen Clowe, Gavin Clowe, and Chris Thiele.
