Brian P. Scott, aged 80, of Jaffrey, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, surrounded by his family after bravely facing several medical challenges.
Brian is lovingly remembered by his two sons: Michael Scott and his wife Gina of Jaffrey, NH, and Robert Scott and his partner Iris of Worthington, MA. Brian leaves behind four brothers: Duncan Scott and his wife Maura of Shrewsbury, MA; Jon Scott and his wife Jean of Shrewsbury, MA; Jay Scott of Millbury, MA; and Dana Scott and his wife Candice of Hartwell, GA. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Melissa Scott of Cookeville, TN.; brother-in- law John DiPilato of Boylston, MA; sister-in-law, Angela Scott of Hanford, CA and sister-in-law Leslie Smiley, of Lowell, MA.
Brian was blessed with three grandchildren—Tanyan Scott, Riley Scott, and Aubrie Scott—who brought immense joy to his life. In addition, he cherished his sixteen nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Brian was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lisa (Smiley) Scott; his son, Thomas Scott; and three siblings; Alan Scott, Claudia DiPilato, and Frederick Scott.
Throughout his life, Brian found happiness in a variety of activities. He took pleasure in boating, gardening, and maintaining his property. He also enjoyed coin collecting. Above all, Brian treasured time spent with his family—whether attending gatherings, supporting Robert's musical performances, or sharing meals around the dinner table, these moments were what he valued most deeply.
Brian proudly served in the United States Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge in January 1972. Soon after, he began working at Service Systems and Marriott/Sodexo, where he remained employed until his retirement, which allowed him to devote time to caring for his wife, Lisa.
A ceremony to honor Brian will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 11 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA, on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the American Legion, 295 School Street, Winchendon, MA, immediately following the service.
