Brian Raphael Webber passed peacefully on February 9, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. He was born January 2, 1939 in Berwyn, Illinois, the eighth child of James Webber and Mabel (Stringer) Webber and the first to be born in a hospital.
Brian is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda (Riley) Webber; along with his four children (Brian Jr., Gregory, David, and Kathleen; thirteen grandchildren (Riley, Laney, Katherine, Bobby, Stuart, Hank, Rocco, Ricki, Olive, Thomas, Dean, Daphne, Agnes); and his only remaining sibling, Thomas Webber.
Brian grew up in LaGrange, IL where he loved sports, especially basketball, hockey and golf. He often talked about spending his days at his sister's house (the Cleveland household with his eleven nieces and nephews) as the greatest time of his youth. While at Northwestern University, he joined the Army Reserves, and then completed his education at Benedictine University, where under the tutelage of the monks of St. Procopius Abbey, he graduated with honors.
After graduating, his nephew, Bob (Bodie) Cleveland, introduced him to the world of corrugated boxes, where he enjoyed a 40-plus year career. Brian had a gift for taking a personal interest in everyone he met, from his customers and employees, to the checker at the supermarket. He remembered everyone's name, their family, their children, pets, likes/dislikes, and never forgot anyone. He was a walking history of people in his life. These gifts drove his career achievements from his beginning in sales, to directing entire companies.
As Brian grew closer to retirement, he loved to spend a day on the golf course with his sons. He became somewhat of a homebody, enjoying daily crossword puzzles, following professional golf, college sports, and the horses and trainers in horse racing, occasionally even getting to the Del Mar racetrack. He bet small, won often, and always enjoyed the laughs. Most of all, Brian enjoyed talking with great pride about his thirteen grandchildren. His family takes immense joy in the thought of Brian, still being a homebody, in the eternal home of our Lord.
