Bruce Ludwig Russo
February 1, 1943-February 10, 2026

Bruce Ludwig Russo, age 83, of Greenwood, South Carolina formally, of Charlotte North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughter and special friends, at the Hospice & Palliative Care House of the Piedmont, Greenwood, South Carolina.

Born in Charlotte North Carolina, February 1, 1943, the son of the late Claudine Jordan and the late Louis Russo. He loved Charlotte and stayed there until the last few years when he moved to Greenwood, South Carolina.

Bruce graduated from Garringer H.S. class of "61." After graduation he enlisted in the US Marine Corps., as well as the reserves, he served from 1961-1965. When his military career ended, he became the owner/operator of Morris Russo Inc. HVAC company in which he served his community for 50+ years.

If you knew Bruce you know he never met a stranger, always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He also did many things well; he loved well, he prayed for others well, he served his family, clients, and friends well, and he COOKED especially well. We believe it was one of his spiritual gifts. He would always show up in "The Church Mobile" ready to cook for any occasion that needed food. School retreats, camping outings, funerals, fundraisers, wedding receptions, parties, etc. He was always ready with food in hand. He also provided a home to anything he saw on the side of the road, be it in someone's trash, in recycle bins, even from a friend's home, etc., because all it needed was a little care and he was always going to "fix it." He raised his family with a steady hand, a big heart, and a strong knowledge about God and that Jesus was his savior. He always knew that this earth was not his home and he was ready to go to his everlasting home to be with his friend Jesus and those who went before him. His love for people kept him busy helping any way he could. He was always on the alert to a person's needs.

Bruce is survived by his children, Robert Bruce Russo (Cindy), Paul Douglas Russo (Lori), Jennifer Claudine Russo (Nick), and his stepdaughter Deirdre Hester Hackett (Kevin). His five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, and his sister-in- law, Judy Russo, nephews, Brent, (Sharon) and Phillip (Deania). Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lou Jordan Russo, wife Kathleen Driscoll Russo, and stepdaughter Courtney Hester.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday March 14, 2026, at Emerald Baptist Church, 110 Laurel Ave. E. Greenwood, South Carolina, 29649. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Craig McDaniel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bruce's memory to Emerald Baptist Church, 110 Laurel Ave. E., Greenwood, South Carolina, 29649 (for their friendship and care of our father in his need). Or Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 N. Alexander Ave. Greenwood, South Carolina 29646 (for their loving care of our father).

We are deeply grateful to the team at the Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, Anderson, S.C., for their kind, efficient, and compassionate, handling of our father Bruce Russo. Special thanks to Rebbekah Jenkins for making a difficult process smooth and respectful, and for all her patience with our many questions.

We would like to thank our families and friends for all the phone calls, text messages, cards, and most importantly the prayers for our father. We love you all. Love, Robby, Paul, and Jennifer Russo.
