Bruce Joseph Wydallis, 88, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, in Milford, Connecticut. Born on September 6, 1938, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, Bruce lived a life marked by intellectual curiosity, professional achievement, and quiet devotion to those around him.

Bruce pursued his education in Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, laying the foundation for a distinguished career that would span decades and contribute to some of the most significant scientific endeavors of his time. He worked with Barnes Engineering and later the Foxboro Companies, where he played a role in projects tied to the space program—including work related to the Hubble Space Telescope. His contributions reflected not only technical expertise but also a deep commitment to innovation and exploration.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bruce was known as a kind and spiritual man. Those who knew him were touched by his gentle demeanor and thoughtful presence. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and remained grounded in his values throughout the years.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Bruce was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. Whether cheering from home or discussing game-day strategies with friends and family, his enthusiasm for his teams was unwavering.

Bruce was appointed by the late Governor Ella Grasso to serve as Commissioner for the State of Connecticut Commission on the Deaf and Hearing Impaired, and helped in policy making, education, job programs, budgets and administrative tasks. Bruce served for many years as the President of The New England Region of the International Catholic Deaf Association, and served as Executive Secretary of the Greater Bridgeport Athletic Association of the Deaf. Bruce was also the President for the Connecticut Council of Organizations Serving the Deaf. One of Bruce's lifelong goals was to establish a link between the deaf and hearing world in order to prevent this handicap from hampering an individuals ability.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Gail; his daughter Robin Zsampar (Mark); his grandsons Bradley and Geoffrey Zsampar; and his sisters-in-law Marlene Vinci and Sharon Sanborn (Dennis). Several cousins, nieces and nephews. His legacy lives on through them and through all those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.

The family would like to thank Hospice and his nurse Nadique, for her loving support. Ms. Diane Merkle at the Bridgeport Hospital Wound Care Center and the many doctors who cared for him at Cardiac Specialists, most importantly Dr. Richard Taikowsky.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.

A private internment for immediate family will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Drums, Pennsylvania at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
