Burton A. "Burt" Meldman, 92, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, after a valiant fight with melanoma.
He was born September 5, 1933, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Edward H. and Rose Meldman (née Bortin).
A proud alumnus of the University of Wisconsin, he earned his Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School. For fifty years, Burt enjoyed a distinguished career with Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, where his expertise in insurance and pension planning, combined with his genuine warmth, earned him lifelong clients and friends.
Burt moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1971. He discovered golf at age 65 and quickly became passionate about the game, playing avidly until the very end. He was a devoted reader of mystery novels and an enthusiastic fan of all sports, with a particular fondness for football and golf.
Burt was preceded in death by his college sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Margery S. Meldman (née Scholl), and their beloved daughter, Debra Meldman Dixon. He is survived by his daughter Sharon M. Hall (Richard), son Michael S. Meldman, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of cherished friends.
A kind, thoughtful, and gentle man, Burt will be remembered for his generous heart and the deep love he held for his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
