Caleb Michael Derouin, age 21, passed away alongside his father on December 5, 2025, in DeLand, Florida.
Caleb was born on November 29, 2004, in Daytona Beach, Florida, to William (Will) Derouin and Rebecca Slade. He was raised in DeLand, where he grew into a young man known for his strong character, kind heart, and love for family.
Caleb excelled early in life, leaving elementary school with honors and recognized leadership qualities. He was a member of the DeLand High School wrestling team and proudly graduated from DeLand High School, forming friendships and memories that would last a lifetime.
From the age of 16, Caleb showed dedication and responsibility through his work at Publix and later with John Knox. He was dependable, hardworking, and took pride in everything he did.
Caleb's greatest joy, much like his father's, was his family and the time they spent together. Caleb had a deep passion for adventure and family, and in so many ways, he was a reflection of his father. They shared the same mannerisms, spoke alike, and loved the same hobbies. Caleb would do anything for his family and friends, always putting others before himself. He was often referred to as the "Dad Child". A steady presence who looked out for everyone around him. He loved riding motorcycles, mud bogging with his four-wheeler and side-by-side, evenings around bonfires, and weekend adventures shared with those he loved most. Caleb's spirit was adventurous, his heart loyal, and his love for his family unwavering.
Caleb was preceded in death by his father William "Will" Derouin and grandfather Raymond Derouin and Sid Sanders.
He is survived by his loving mother, Rebecca Slade; his brothers, Jordan and Kaden Derouin; his sister Chasity Thompson; his niece, Oaklynn Marie Derouin; his nephew, Hudson Hayes Derouin; his grandmothers, Jean Derouin and Sarah Sanders; and the love of his life for the past three years, Amber Fetters.
Caleb will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous soul, and the deep love he had for his family. Though his life was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever.
