Cameron Steen Jennings

1977 - 2026

Cameron Steen Jennings was born on September 15, 1977, in Norfolk, Virginia. On April 4, 2026, at only 48 years old, Cameron’s life was tragically cut short in a motor vehicle incident. His loss leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his presence will continue to be felt in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

From the very earliest days of his life, Cameron carried within him a rare and remarkable spirit. Even as a toddler, there was a kindness within him that stood out - an innate sense of empathy, loyalty, understanding, and compassion that cannot be taught, only given. These were not qualities he learned over time; they were part of who he was, woven into his character from the beginning. That deep-rooted kindness became the foundation of the man he grew to be, guiding how he treated others and how he showed up in the world.

Cameron spent the majority of his life in Colorado, where he built lasting connections and created a life rooted in hard work, friendship, and family. He was, at his core, a man of action and generosity. Cameron embodied the phrase “give the shirt off your back” in every sense. If someone needed help, he was already on his way before they could even finish asking. He was the person you called in a crisis, the one who showed up when others couldn’t or wouldn’t. No matter the situation, Cameron was someone you could count on to come rescue you - without hesitation, without judgment. He was a man defined by his character; steady, reliable, and endlessly giving. He didn’t just offer support - he became it.

There was something about him, an authenticity, a strength, a quiet understanding. People were naturally drawn to him; not just because of what he said or did, but because of how he made them feel. He had a way of making others feel seen, understood, and valued, often without even trying. He didn’t need to try to make an impression; he simply was one. He was dependable in a way that is rare; steady, loyal, and always present. If you were in trouble, Cameron was the one you called, and he would come without hesitation. He was a protector, a helper, and a constant source of support for so many. His loyalty was unwavering, and his willingness to stand beside the people he loved never faltered.

Cameron was also known for his sharp mind and remarkable versatility. A true jack of all trades. He had an outstanding ability to work with both his hands and his mind, excelling in IT and mechanics alike. There seemed to be nothing he couldn’t fix, figure out, or improve. His intelligence was matched by his curiosity and determination. He took pride in his ability to solve problems and in being someone others could depend on - not just for his skill, but for his steady presence and willingness to help.

Cameron’s personality was as unique as it was unforgettable. One of Cameron’s most unforgettable traits was his one-of-a-kind sense of humor; perfectly timed, witty, dry, and often laced with a dark edge. It was the kind of humor that caught you off guard and left you laughing long after. It was part of what made him so genuine and real. It reflected his perspective on life: resilient, grounded, and unapologetically real. His humor was not just a way to make others laugh, but a way to connect, to cope, and brought light even into heavy situations.

Cameron was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. The role he played in his family was one of strength, support, loyalty and unconditional love.
He is survived by his children, Tyler Jennings and Autumn (Kristopher) Mansfield; his parents, Donna Thurston-Jennings and Steve Jennings; his sister, Amber Jennings; his nephew and niece, Falcon Woolery and Lyric Jennings; and his four granddaughters: Adilynn, Kambri, Olivia, and Lillian. Each of them carries forward a part of Cameron’s spirit, humor, his strength, and his kindness.

It would be impossible to speak of Cameron’s life without also recognizing his friends; many of whom he considered family. The bonds he formed went far beyond friendship; they were rooted in loyalty, shared experiences, and a deep sense of trust. He built a community around him, and that community will continue to honor his memory.

Cameron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Theresa (Howell) and Edwin “Ned” Thurston, as well as his paternal grandmother, Teresa Dennison.

Cameron Jennings was truly one of a kind. His life was defined by what he gave to others, his time, his energy, his loyalty, and his heart. He was a protector, a helper, and a constant presence for so many. Though he is gone far too soon, the memory of who he was and the countless lives he touched will never fade.

He is missed more than words can express, remembered with deep love, and carried in the hearts of those who knew him, always.
