Candy Lynn Person (née Draper), age 63, passed away on December 8, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Born on August 6, 1962, in the United States, Candy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time spent with her family and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was raised by Martha Linn of Coello, Illinois, whose care and guidance helped shape the woman Candy became.
Candy shared 15 loving years of marriage with her husband Jim Person of Rantoul, Illinois. Her family was the center of her world. She is survived by her son Andrew Pollack of Rantoul, Illinois; her birth daughter Samantha Nunley and husband Shawn of Newburgh, Indiana; and three beloved grandchildren: Kiersten, Harlee, and Kane Nunley. Candy's warmth extended to many others in her life as well—she is also remembered by her sisters Margaret Songer (Cris) of Danville, Illinois; Lou Galloway (Jim) of Coello, Illinois; Susan Lance (David) of Boonville, Indiana; Mary Draper of Pollard, Arkansas; and her brother Freddie Draper III of Christopher, Illinois. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward memories of her love and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her father Fred Draper Jr., birth mother Cora (Chaney) Corbin, and sister Bobbie E. Draper Brownfield.
Candy embraced life with a generous heart and a deep appreciation for nature. She loved the outdoors and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she held dear. As a housewife and mother, she poured herself into creating a home filled with love and care.
