Carl M. Podlesny of Whitehall, went to be with the Lord at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday October 26, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born in Hazleton on August 1, 1943 to the late Carl L. and Ann (Kovalick) Podlesny.
After graduating from Hazleton High School in 1961, he enlisted in the Army Reserves. He briefly worked at Western Electric before going to work at Mack Trucks for 33 years. Carl was an avid fisherman who loved to fish up in the Thousand Islands and Canada with his life-long friends. He did volunteer work with The American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Survivors: wife Suzanne M. (Pavlick) Podlesny; daughters Mary Lynn Ghizzone (Robert) of Delray Beach, Florida and Michele Diefenbach of Alburtis; grandchildren Michael C. Boyko of Whitehall, Nicole S. Dugan (Shayne) of Fort Myers, Florida, Hailey C. Diefenbach of Alburtis; great granddaughters Finley and Kyleigh Dugan of Fort Myers, Florida; along with nieces, nephews and extended family; predeceased by son in law Jeffrey S. Diefenbach.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Joseph J. Kweder on Monday November 3, 2025 at 10:00 am in Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church 618 Fullerton Avenue, Whitehall, PA 18052, where his family will receive guests beginning at 9:00 am. Interment will be private.
