Carlos Pierre Underwood, age 52, of Arcadia, Louisiana, passed away on January 5, 2026. A man of profound character and unwavering service, Carlos leaves behind a legacy of dedication to his family, his country, and the land he loved.
Carlos honorably dedicated 21 years to the United States Marine Corps. A veteran of the War in Iraq, he served with bravery and distinction. Throughout his career, Carlos also served as a Martial Arts Instructor and a USMC Recruiter, helping to shape the next generation of Marines with the same discipline and loyalty he modeled every day.
In recognition of his exemplary service, Carlos was honored with numerous decorations, including the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He was a Marine’s Marine, deeply proud of the uniform and the brotherhood of the Corps.
When he wasn’t in uniform, Carlos found his peace in the quiet rhythms of nature. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. Perhaps his greatest joy outside of his family was farming, a hobby he began in retirement and a testament to his hardworking spirit and love for his Louisiana roots.
Carlos was a devoted husband and a pillar of strength for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cara, and his three children: Jonathan, Tyler, and his stepson, Anthony. His guidance, love, and steady presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Our beloved Carlos was laid to rest on January 10, 2026."Semper Fi, Carlos. May you rest in eternal peace."
