In loving memory of Carmen Menendez, born November 28th, 1942 and passed away January 28th, 2026, at the age of 83. She was born in Moca, Puerto Rico and was the first of seven children. She is survived by her younger brother Benny, sister Annie, who live in New York, and younger brother Benjamin, who lives in Puerto Rico. Carmen is now in Heaven with her parents, Hermitano and Petra, respectively, her youngest daughter, Damarys, plus many other adoring family members.
Carmen was known for her tenacious disposition and unwavering spiritual convictions. She was a devoted mother and very proud grandmother. Carmen loved to read her bible, pray for and with others, and spend time with family and friends. She was also an accomplished seamstress. She spent many years tailoring beautiful garments, including wedding gowns, quilts, and permanent upholstery for family, friends, and church ministries. Every piece was her meticulously glowing work of art. Also important to Carmen was her dear garden. It was her sanctuary for peace and spiritual connection to nature. She tended to her plants with such passion and enthusiasm. A true horticulturalist.
Carmen will be forever missed by her surviving daughters Yvette Medina and Nydia Menendez. She was blessed and so proud of her grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Alex Rivera, and Joseph and Christopher Medina. They all loved Grandma's steadfast character.
A memorial and celebration of life gathering will be held on February 15th at 950 Piney Z Plantation Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32311. Gathering: 1:00 PM.
Her family is thankful every day for her presence in their lives. Rest in Peace Carmen.
