Carmen Salvatore Salamone, age 86, of Jeffersonville passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026 with his wife, Lucy, by his side. Carmen was born in the heart of Norristown, PA to the late Carmen Salamone and Marie Salamone Fiorillo (Mandrack).
Carmen’s family operated a small grocery store on the corner of Marshall and Arch Streets where he learned firsthand the importance of kindness, generosity, and diversity. He was a member of the first graduating class of Bishop Kendrick High School where he played football. After high school, Carmen enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in Arkansas where he investigated car and plane crashes that occurred overseas. During his time in the service, he was a member of a band, The Beachcombers, in which he played the standing bass and recorded songs at the famous Sun Studio in Memphis, TN.
After his honorable discharge, Carmen started his career at Conshohocken Federal as a loan officer for residential construction projects. From there, he co-founded a custom home building company, Philomeno & Salamone Builders. For over 40 years, he dedicated his professional life to building quality and attention to detail homes in the Philadelphia suburbs and Jersey Shore, many of which have become staple neighborhoods in the Montgomery County community and have won numerous awards. He was a trusted and generous community member that was ever willing to give back to the people and places that defined him.
Carmen was an avid film buff. He had the pleasure of being an extra in the film Creed where he was able to meet Sylvester Stallone, a lifetime hero of his. He enjoyed all types of music including Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli, and The Carpenters. His love for fine Italian cuisine was seen at Sunday family dinners. He was known for his charming personality, great vocabulary, and sharp dress style. The world will greatly miss this man of kindness, generosity, and integrity.
Carmen is survived by his wife, Lucy Ann DiPiero; daughter, Lauren Sisson of Holly Springs, NC; son, Marc Salamone (Lisa) of Lower Gwynedd, PA; daughter, Tara Sheahan (Christopher) of Wilmington, NC; six grandchildren, Nicholas Imperial (Cassie), Olivia Coble (Kyle), Gabrielle Salamone (James), Ava Salamone, Jane Sheahan, and Jude Sheahan; his great grandchildren, and many other family, friends, and loved ones.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at St. Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Helena. Private internment.
