Carol Gingue

1964 - 2026

Carol Gingue (Dooley) passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on March 28, 2026, surrounded by her sisters and friends.

Carol found joy in the simple beauty of life—walking her dogs along the beach and through the woods, boating on the Cape, and quietly spending time creating artwork. She loved nature and flowers, spending time with her cats—even taking them outside on harnesses—and bold, vibrant fashion that reflected her spirit. She was proud of becoming an esthetician and of her work in modeling. Carol was a spirited person who loved deeply and stood up for those who could not stand up for themselves, especially for the people and animals she loved. Through unwavering self-determination, she taught herself to bike and ski, a strength she carried throughout her life.

Above all, she cherished being a “parent” to her many “children,” as she lovingly called her dogs, cats, and rescue horses. She was a passionate advocate for her animals, always putting their needs first and creating a safe, loving place for her rescue horses. Carol found her purpose in life and true joy in rescuing and caring for them. Her bond with her horses was especially meaningful, a love she shared deeply with her beloved mother.

In her later years, Carol was supported by her close friend, Kyle Thomas, who helped her care for her fur family. The family would like to thank her dear friend, Marina Cesar, DVM, a compassionate veterinarian who cared for her rescue horses. They also extend sincere gratitude to the many staff members at Cape Cod Hospital for their compassion and care. The family would also like to thank the many lives Carol touched and those who supported her on her vibrant journey in life.

Carol lived her life fully, embracing each day with a positive outlook and gratitude. She had a beautifully colored spirit that was truly her own, filled with compassion and lived with no apologies.

She was reunited with her mother, Verley Dooley (2021); her father, Earl Dooley (2022); her husband of 24 years, Robert Gingue (2022); and her brother-in-law, Scott Sanborn (2017).

Carol is survived by her sister, Sonya Sanborn of Ashby, MA; her sister, Sharon Amadon of West Townsend, MA, with her husband, Shawn Amadon; and her extended family, including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

“If you don’t understand how siblings can both love a sister and want to wring her neck at the same time, you were probably an only child. Having a sister is like having a best friend you can’t get rid of—you know whatever you do, they will still be there.” Pinky promises.

Please, on April 27, take a moment to pay your respects—say goodbye or reflect on a fond or even a crazy memory you shared with Carol.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an animal rescue or having a tree planted in Carol’s memory.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.

Rest in Peace.
