Carol Sue Reed
February 5, 1955 - November 26, 2025
Carol Sue Reed passed away on November 26, 2025, after a long and hard-fought battle with lung disease. She was 70 years old.
Carol was born on February 5, 1955, and grew up in Meiners Oak, California. She graduated from Nordhoff High School in 1973 and went on to attend the University of California, Los Angeles. During her freshman year at UCLA, Carol joined Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, forming friendships that she maintained throughout her life. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 and remained a devoted Bruin, holding season tickets for UCLA football for many years.
After completing UCLA's first-time paralegal program, Carol built a successful career as a real estate paralegal. She worked for several well-known firms and companies, including Latham & Watkins, Thrifty, and Harbor Freight Tools, from which she retired in 2008.
Although she never had children of her own, Carol was extremely family oriented. She cherished her relationships with her siblings and took great pride in her nieces and nephews, celebrating their accomplishments and milestones with enthusiasm and love. Carol was a lifelong Democrat and a devoted lover of pugs. Throughout her life, she owned and rescued pugs, reflecting her deep compassion for animals.
Carol is survived by her older brother, Charles Reuter, his wife, Pam and their two daughters, Paige and Stacy of Anchorage, AK. She is also survived by her older sister, Debi Henderson, her daughters Amy Hawkins of Newbury Park and Christie Pennington of Ventura, California. and nephew David Torrey of Santa Barbara, CA; as well as many dear friends, especially her Alpha Gamma Delta sorority sisters.
There will be a Celebration of Life at her sister Debi's on February 07, 2026. Please RSVP to Debi if you plan to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol's memory to "The Pug Queen Rescue of Los Angeles."
