Carol Ann Sather, age 87, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at The Plaza of Anoka. Born on October 30, 1938, in Minneapolis, Carol grew up in Deephaven, Minnesota, nurtured by her parents, Kermit and Marie (Peterson) Henrikson.
From a young age, Carol was active and adventurous—playing sports, lifeguarding, babysitting, and participating in Girl Scouts. She later attended the University of Minnesota, earning a degree in Physical Education. It was there, on a blind date, that she met Douglas Sather. They married on August 5, 1961, and together built a loving life rooted in family, hard work, and care for others.
Carol devoted herself to raising three children and found immense pride and joy in her role as a mother and grandmother. Her compassionate heart and unwavering commitment to serving others touched everyone she met. Carol's generosity shone through her volunteer work, especially with the ACBC Food Shelf and as a Girl Scout troop leader.
She cherished time with family and friends, and delighted in activities such as sailing, synchronized swimming, tennis, golf, fishing, camping, road trips, and playing practical jokes on friends and family. After more than 50 years in Ramsey, Minnesota, Carol moved to The Plaza of Anoka, where she continued to be surrounded by loved ones.
Carol is survived by her husband, Douglas Sather; her children, Scott (Alison) Cook-Sather, Bruce (Theresa) Sather, and Wendy (Dean) Saunders; six grandchildren, Walter (Josie) Foster, Jacob Sather, Nick Sather, Maren Saunders, Morgan Cook-Sather, and Evan Saunders; four great-grandchildren; and siblings Charles (Patricia) Henrikson and Nancy Morrisette. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Ray Morrisette.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
