Carol Parsons Stuart, born in Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026 at the age of 92.
She was the daughter of the late Richard B. Parsons and Gertrude Parsons. She grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts, attending Derby Academy.
Carol was married for 65 years to her affable husband, Wallace "Bud" Stuart, an artist. Together they raised their sons in the coastal communities of Cohasset and Chatham, Massachusetts, sharing their love of sailing and fishing while enjoying time at the Cohasset and Stage Harbor Yacht Clubs. The family often traveled to Maine and Rhode Island for cruising, hiking, and kayaking adventures.
Upon retirement to Punta Gorda Isles, Florida, Carol and Bud joined Twin Isles Country Club, enjoying many years of golf, tennis, and cruising Charlotte Harbor and Gasparilla Sound. They later found their final home together at Cypress Cove in Fort Myers, Florida, where Carol enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds, reading countless books, and staying closely connected with family and friends.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Wallace "Bud" Stuart; her sisters, Louise Piattelli of Florence, Italy, and Sally Sayre of Bristol, Rhode Island.
She is survived by her sons, Scott Stuart and his wife Adrienne; Robert Stuart and his wife Stephanie; grandson Mackenzie Stuart; granddaughter Nicole Branning and her husband Chris and their children Ayla and Pierce; Stephanie's son Logan Cole and their son Blake Stuart; her adoring, fun sister Hope Schmidt of Rotunda West, Florida; her accomplished brother Richard Parsons of South Bristol, Maine; and many nieces and nephews. She was also a devoted aunt.
Carol will be remembered for her Yankee spirit, warmth, and deep devotion to family. She always seemed to know the right thing to say. Her grandchildren will fondly remember her as a feisty board game player and enthusiastic cheerleader of their many activities.
Carol will join Bud in her final resting place at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A private family graveside service will be held. The family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choosing.
