Carole Ann Jackson, beloved cousin and friend, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in New York City on September 11, 1959, Carole graduated from Northwestern University and Yale University with advanced degrees and certifications in financial and investment planning. She lived and worked in Washington, D.C., Peru, Barbados, and Brazil during her illustrious career with the U.S. Department of State before settling in Miami, Florida, after her mother’s death. Here, she pursued many opportunities to give back to the community by volunteering in purposeful work such as helping older individuals resolve their tax issues, advocating for the best interests of children or legally incompetent individuals in legal proceedings, serving the underserved in her community, and ensuring that all in her surrounding community had the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.

Carole dedicated herself to helping others and always made time to lend a listening ear or kind word to those in need. She selflessly gave her time, talents, and resources to humanistic causes she believed needed care, concern, expertise, and experience—making her indispensable to those she worked alongside. She loved her family and friends, cherishing their love and affection.

Carole is survived by her first cousins, Lissa (Jackson) Miller, Dierdre (Jackson) Cox, David Jackson, Michelle Kelly Williams, and a host of second and third cousins, as well as dear friends and colleagues who will cherish her memory in their hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia (Kelly) and Wilfred Jackson.

A celebration and memorial of Carole's life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 3-4 p.m. EST at Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ, 3010 De Soto Blvd., Coral Gables, FL 33134.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the United Negro College Fund.
