1937 - 2026

Carole Marie (Miller) Lamourine
The sons of Carole Marie Lamourine wish to pass along that their mother passed into the hands of her Savior on March 8, 2026, resting peacefully in her home, which was her final wish.
She arrived into this world on July 8, 1937, to Grace and Albert Miller in Old Lyme Connecticut.
On October 8, 1955, she married Richard Duncklee Lamourine and they raised a family of 5 sons together. Rick, Chris, Larry, Mark and Thom.
Mom loved everyone who crossed paths with her and unofficially adopted many along the way. The first time you were a guest, the second time, you were family. Bernie, Sue, Nat, Dakota, Matt and many others became part of our family because Mom always wanted friends to feel loved.
She loved spoiling her Grandchildren, Rebecca, Amy, Lauren, Patrick, Chiara, RB, Jeffery and Ash. Her Great-grandchildren always brought a special sparkle to her eyes.
When we were young, she enjoyed baking. Birthday cakes, Wedding cakes, no reason needed cakes for anyone who asked. She especially enjoyed our time when we were in Cub Scouts, helping with craft projects and creating the annual Gingerbread House that we Cubs destroyed in moments.
Her love for Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church in Old Lyme was deep and sincere. She participated in many functions and activities which were intended purely for the betterment of others, without any thought of recognition. The sewing group she worked with for many years quietly made clothing for young people in the Dominican Republic, vestments not only for the clergy at Saint Ann’s but other churches around the globe.
During the late 1970s, she was an active member of the 2nd Connecticut Regiment of the Continental Line, making accurate replicas of the period clothing and uniforms. She spent many hours learning the proper way to spin yarns and thread so she could help keep these crafts alive and demonstrating them to visitors at the Revolutionary War bicentennial events.
Mom kept busy knitting hats and mittens for people she never met, who needed them. During the Covid times, despite the passing of our father, she pressed on by making masks for anyone and everyone who wanted them.
Mom left this life with a legacy of friends and family. We will miss her but are grateful she was at peace when her time came to join Dad.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life at Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church in Old Lyme on Saturday, April 25, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am
Please, instead of sending flowers, make a donation to the Saint Ann’s Rector’s Discretionary Fund or pick your favorite charity and make a donation in her memory to them.
