Caroline Ann Mahoney

Caroline Ann Mahoney, born September 11, 1955, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, at her home in Tierra Verde, Florida. Caroline passed surrounded by her siblings, children and grandchildren.

After raising her children, Caroline pursued her nursing degree and earned recognition by WHO's WHO for her academic achievements. She began her career at Boston Children's Hospital in the cardiac stepdown unit. Caroline then fullfilled her dream of living at the beach and moved to Florida where she worked as a charge nurse at All Children's Hospital, Miami Children's Hospital and Palms of Pasadena. Caroline had a remarkable gift of making those around her feeling cared for, comforted, and safe.

Caroline found joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. She loved the beach, where she could relax and feel at peace, often with a book in her hand. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, sewing, crafts, and most of all, spending time in her Tierra Verde home, which was often filled with family, friends, and her pups.

In December of 2025, Caroline retired from her nursing career to focus fully on her
lifelong dream of breeding and raising English bulldogs. Caroline's home was never without the sound of paws on the floor.

Her passion for helping others did not stop after retirement, it was simply a part of who she was.

She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Mahoney; her mother Joan Sullivan Connors; father Timothy "Babe" D. Connors; and many beloved furbabies.

Caroline is survived by her children and grandchildren who adored her: Her daughter Elizabeth Weaver and son-in-law Timothy Weaver of Gainesville, VA; Her grandson Justus Weaver and his wife Haley of Charleston, SC; Her granddaughter Peyton Lenning and husband Aaron of Point Magu, CA; Her grandson US Army SGT Dylan Weaver of Colorado Springs, CO; Her granddaughter Taylor Weaver of Gainesville, VA; Her son Peter Connors and partner Mariannne Janik of Portsmouth, NH; Her daughter Kimberly Weaver and partner Joseph Walker and grandson Riley Walker.

Caroline is also survived by her siblings, brother David Connors of Windham, NH; sister Susan Connors of Newton, MA; brother Kerry Connors of Haverhill, MA and sister Tara C. Schoff of Portsmouth, NH and many nieces and nephews with whom she was very close.

Caroline will be remembered for her generosity, spirit and tireless New England work ethic.
