Carolyn W. Fisher, 89 years of age, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Baptist Health East in Louisville, KY surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred Winterbottom, Carolyn was born in Calhoun, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Blancett of Hardinsburg, KY. Carolyn grew up in the small town of Morganfield, KY. She graduated from Norton Memorial Infirmary School of Nursing in Louisville in 1958. Carolyn worked as a registered nurse in many different settings over the years but was a decorated nurse manager for the Department of the Army the last 14 years of her career.
Carolyn is survived by her two devoted children, daughter Susan Vartenigian (Tyler) of Glastonbury, CT; son Danny Fisher (Shannon) of Richmond, VA. She was the proud grandmother to Katie and Luke Vartenigian; Tristan, Holden, Silas and Jude Fisher; and a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. A private family remembrance will be held at a future date.
