Carolyn Vivien Gillette, age 91, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in North Richland Hills, Texas. Born on July 7, 1934, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Carolyn lived a life full of joy, devotion, and deep-rooted connections to her family, faith, and community.

Carolyn was the daughter of Leo Joseph Vivien and Beulah Wienhousen Vivien. She grew up in New Orleans and attended St. James Major Elementary School before graduating from John McDonogh High School. It was during these formative years that she met the love of her life and future husband, George Paul Gillette “Chick,” whom she would later marry and share a lifetime of adventures with.

A devoted Catholic throughout her life, Carolyn was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church for over 50 years. Her unwavering faith was a guiding light in her life and a source of strength for those around her.

After moving to Euless, Texas with her husband many years ago, Carolyn became a beloved fixture in the Morrisdale neighborhood where they lived for over four decades. Known for her warm smile and infectious laughter, she quickly became the heart of the community. She never missed an opportunity to gather with friends or host a celebration—especially her cherished annual Mardi Gras parties that brought the spirit of New Orleans to Texas year after year.

Carolyn had an adventurous spirit and loved traveling across the country in an RV with her husband Chick. Together they explored new places and visited family along the way, creating memories that would be treasured by all who knew them.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons: George Paul Gillette III and his wife Rachael; David Leo Gillette and his wife Sheila; and Eric Christian Gillette and his wife Lori. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kevin Gillette (Amy), Ian Gillette (Mallory), Brandon Gillette (Zoe), Shelby Gillette, and Jayce Gillette; as well as great-grandchildren Tyde Gillette, Fiona Gillette, and Francis Gillette. She also held dear her step-grandchildren Madeleine Harris and Rhys Harris.

Carolyn shared close bonds with extended family as well. She is fondly remembered by her nieces Leslie Higgins (John), Linda Reineke (Jim), Shelley Landry (Ron); and nephew Mark Stephens (Cindi).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Paul “Chick” Gillette; her parents Leo Joseph Vivien and Beulah Wienhousen Vivien; and her sister Jacquelyn Vivien Stephens.

Carolyn’s vibrant personality made every gathering brighter. A true social butterfly, she brought people together with ease—whether through neighborhood events or spontaneous visits filled with laughter. Her love for tradition, especially Mardi Gras celebrations rooted in her New Orleans heritage, reflected both pride in where she came from and joy in sharing it with others.

May Carolyn’s memory bring comfort to all who knew her and may the joy she spread continue to live on through those whose lives she touched so deeply. A Funeral Mass will be held on February 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Michael’s Catholic Church 3713 Harwood Rd
