Carolyn Mae McCombs

Carolyn Mae McCombs, 82, passed away on April 6, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1943, in Oxley, Missouri, to James and Opal Couch.

Carolyn met and married Harold McCombs in 1960, and together they built a life filled with love and lasting memories, spending most of their years in Bakersfield, California. They especially enjoyed traveling and spending time together at one of their favorite places, the Colorado Belle.

She dedicated much of her career to working for the County of Kern, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment. Above all, Carolyn treasured the time she spent with her family and friends, which brought her the greatest happiness. She was beloved by many and will be remembered for her warmth and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold McCombs, and her children, Darren McCombs and Carrie Colson.

She is survived by her children, Kim Tatman and Douglas McCombs; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Carolyn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
