Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late Tom Mondello, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership. Together they built a family that remained the center of her life and greatest source of pride.

A caring mother and grandmother, Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her children, Tom Mondello Jr., Joe Mondello, and Maria Mondello Wernes (Paul Wernes) She was a proud and attentive grandmother to Mia Micele (Michael Micele), Kara Grosvenor (Austin Grosvenor) , Olivia Mondello, Nick Mondello, Paul Wernes, Peyton Wernes, and Parker Wernes, a cherished great-grandmother to Emmett Micele and Kendall Grosvenor, a beloved aunt to Daniel Dybas, Tia Dybas and Ashley Mosher, dear sister in law to Esther Grzesiak (Ray Grzesiak) and sons Ray & Gary Grzesiak, and a treasured sister to James Dybas, David Dybas (Theresa Sarcinelli Dybas) & Nina Morris-Cetner (Joe Cetner) Her family will always remember her warmth, her strength, and the steady love she gave so freely.

Carolyn attended Bowen High School and Prarie State College & Governors State University . Throughout her life she was known for her generous heart, welcoming spirit, and the deep care she showed for others. For many years, she owned and operated her beloved childcare center, where she cared for generations of children with patience, warmth, and a genuine love for each one. To the families who entrusted their little ones to her, she was far more than a caregiver—she was a steady presence, a teacher of first lessons, a trusted guide in their earliest years, a source of comfort, and often a second mother offering patience, encouragement, and affection that left a lasting impression. The laughter, learning, and friendships that filled her childcare center were a reflection of the heart she poured into her work every day.

Those who knew Carolyn will remember her as someone who brought comfort, joyous laughter, and compassion wherever she went. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and in the many lives she touched through her kindness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
