Carolyn (Lynn) Ruth Peters, 77, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully at her home on January 27, 2026. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her son, David Bryan Peters, and her grandson, Drake Diego David Delgado.
Born in Tucson, Arizona, she excelled in athletics throughout her youth, participating in basketball, softball, and other sports. She met her husband, Bryan Edward Peters (deceased 1992) on a blind date, after he proudly served his country in the Navy. Although she briefly pursued nursing and potentially going into the Navy herself, she dedicated herself to motherhood following their marriage in 1969.
Carolyn, Bryan, and David moved from Tucson due to Bryan's employment, and they lived happily in Fresno, California and Las Vegas, Nevada before laying down permanent roots in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1983.
Carolyn enjoyed bowling and later became an enthusiastic golfer, often spending time on the course or socializing with friends and joyously playing countless rounds with her son and husband. After Bryan died, she spent much of her time traveling with friends and to engage in her other passion, photography; her favorite spot being Alaska. You could always find her with her friends, every Thursday at their local spot socializing and drinking iced tea. She also loved crocheting, knitting, and watching her favorite cooking programs.
As her health allowed, she volunteered with the Albuquerque MS Society, contributing both in the office and at events supporting individuals affected by the disease, going so far as getting a tattoo with an orange ribbon to show her support for her son and those living with the disease. Her compassion and wisdom made her a trusted confidant for all that were blessed to know her.
Service arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the National MS Society-Arizona-Nevada-New Mexico Chapter.
